The county seat in the beautiful Cuyahoga County, the city of Cleveland is home to almost half a million residents and lies alongside the coastline of Ohio, on the northeastern side of the United States. Standing on the southern shores of the vast Lake Erie, city life in Cleveland is centered around its lively downtown district, which is overflowing with places to eat, shopping opportunities, top attractions and accommodation.

Cleveland Orientation: Layout and Directions

Standing to the northwest of central Cleveland, the city's Historic Warehouse District is known for its old buildings and structures, Cleveland's oldest commercial center and listed on the prestigious National Register of Historic Places. Of equal importance, the Shaker Square district stands close to central Cleveland and offers endless shopping opportunities, together with restaurants and a variety of entertainment for all ages.

Located on the southern side of Cleveland city center, the Tremont district is characterized by its impressive fine restaurants and trendy bars. Nearby and across from the river, Ohio City is a particularly diverse region of the city, comprising many ethnic communities, neighborhoods and eateries.

University Circle can be found around 6 km / 4 miles from the center of Cleveland and contains many of the city's most prominent cultural attractions, including the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, the Cleveland Museum of Art and also the landscaped Botanical Gardens. Close to the University Circle area of Cleveland, Little Italy is known for its cobbled streets and authentic Italian cuisine.
